In the off-premise Beer Market:
- • While packaged beer declined 0.2% during the 12 months to June 2006, 30 pack cans grew 5.1% as consumers continue to discover its convenience and value.

In the supermarket Soft Drink Market:
- • Soft Drinks in Supermarkets grew 3.8% in the 24 months to June 2006, while cans grew 19.4%. According to research by the Aluminium Can Group consumers are discovering that having a multipack in the pantry serves as a backup for out of stock in the home. Freshness of carbonated soft drinks in individual serves is highly appealing to consumers with thirsty teenagers.

In the off-premise Alcoholic ‘Ready to Drink’ Market:
- • While New Age and Premix ‘Ready to Drink’ alcoholic beverages have grown at 21.3% in the 24 months to June 2006, cans have grown at 24.0% and represent a strong 73.3% of the off-premise market.
